The UCT-IBFD Co-operation agreement signed between the Commerce Faculty at UCT and the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation (IBFD) last year was today extended to the Law Faculty.  Simultaneously, in the spirit of the co-operation agreement and co-operation between the Faculties, the tax academics from the Department of Finance and Tax and the Department of Commercial Law have joined forces under a Centre for Tax Research.

The Executive Management will include Professor Jennifer Roeleveld (as Director) and Associate Professor Craig West from the Department of Finance and Tax and Associate Professor Johann Hattingh from the Department of Commercial Law.  The Academic Chairman of the IBFD (Professor Pasquale Pistone) joins the governance structure of the Centre as does Judge Davis (also an Honorary Professor of the Law Faculty).

The Centre will leverage the skills and co-ordinate the tax research efforts from both Faculties.  Celebrating this exciting development are Associate Prof Craig West, Prof Jennifer Roeleveld, Prof Pasquale Pistone and Associate Prof Johann Hattingh.
